Steve Braverman is a senior development professional with more than 42 years of experience managing development programs at major institutions. His extensive track record includes initiating major gift and capital campaign programs, managing and developing staff and starting innovative programs to attract new sources of support. Steve is known for his success at strategic planning and the professionalization of development operations. As a consultant he builds effective relationships with senior organizational leaders, both lay and professional, and other key stakeholders.

For 18 years Steve served as Senior Vice President of Development and Community Relations for Hebrew SeniorLife. During that time he built a sophisticated professional fundraising department that has become a model for senior care organizations across the country by breaking records for generating philanthropic support of over $140 million during his tenure. Steve also developed and implemented new marketing and communications strategies, developed new strategic plans for all department functions and oversaw successful new capital, planned giving and annual campaigns.

In 2010 Steve was recognized by Rep. Stephen Lynch in Congress and by Governor Deval Patrick for his service to senior citizens in Massachusetts. As a nationally recognized fundraiser and teacher, Steve is known for his imaginative and entrepreneurial outlook. He is a mentor to many professionals in the nonprofit sector and is a sought-after speaker and presenter. Steve has been a member of many professional associations including the American Health Planning Association, the Applied Research Ethics National Association (ARENA), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) and the National Society for Fundraising Executives (NSFE).
